Thanksgiving Break - Self-proclaimed (23/11/2005 - 27/11/2005)

Despite falling sick the past week (still sick now), I had a really really enjoyable time since Wednesday, because Zhensi came over from UIUC!!!!

Wednesday (23/11/2005)
Met up at London Euston bus station and we went back to Coventry. Dropped our stuffs and headed to Kenilworth for tea (again), but it's really good la. Watched Rick Astley concert at the Warwick Arts Centre at night, and it was terrific! The audience was very enthusiastic, though the songs were from 80's, but they were tunes we knew, ranging from jazz numbers (Frank Sinatra) to pop music of that era (Close to You, and of course, Rick Astley's greatest hit Never Gonna Give You Up) Poor Zhensi was jet lagged 'cos of the 6 hours difference between UK and Chicago.

Thursday (24/11/2005)
Woke up at 9am to go Leamington Spa, a nearby town to walk around and get fireworks. Hee hee... Went for my 3pm econs lecture - Game theory. Wah, Zhensi and I got knocked out totally, luckily the lecturer didn't point us out -_-"

Dinner was mee siam, mee rebus, otah, with krispy kreme and thai sweet chili chips for desserts. Note: Still had very bad throat.
Our raspberry beer that didn't taste like beer. Fascinating, 'cos I don't like the taste of beer. Zhensi brought it over from US, it's a gift from Uncle Kaibei, haha~! THANK YOU!!! (Company of the night (from left): Me, Zhensi, Cheryl - deep in thoughts, and Jyh Shyong) The idea of this morbid picture is thought by Zhensi, haha~! Think it's been really interesting staying with Zhensi, because she's such an engineering person, her way of thinking and doing things really shows that too. Chop chop, fast fast, and always the shortest way of getting things done, haha~! Got to learn from her...

Heh heh... Our fireworks for the night, had to keep a lookout for Warwick Security 'cos heard setting off of fireworks on campus were prohibited. Luckily we got away scot free.

Our wind blown faces after coming back from the fields. Look at Zhensi's face, well trained in UIUC, under the current -17 degrees celsius temperature; didn't even look like she went out yet. =P

Friday (25/11/2005)

Really a day of nua-ing, the picture says it all - My Hunty and Zhensi's cow. Poster's a gift from Hsienhui, she got it last year from the union poster sale. =P

Went for the Business Ball with Jyh Shyong in the evening though. Zhensi went to meet her senior for another concert by the Proclaimers, a scottish 80's group. Heard the hall was totally packed, must have been a really good concert.

Saturday (26/11/2005)

Went Nottingham Games, and explored a bit of Nottingham University. Really big campus; reminds me of UIUC. Was supposed to take a coach at 530pm to get down to London in 3 hours' time. But the bus was under repair and it delayed for 1 hour, after which National Express offered us an alternative route to London via another coach. That coach went to Birmingham and we transitted there to get to London. Called Cheryl when we got onto the first coach at 630 and found out they've already managed to get back to Coventry; worst of all, we stopped over at Coventry bus station TWICE in our alternative route. By the time we got to London, it was almost 12midnight. Was exhausted and irritated man. But we had a good time at Liu Hao's place chit-chatting and such. =P

Sunday (27/11/2005)

Left at 545 in the morning to make sure Zhensi caught her flight at 920. Time really flies when u're enjoying life. Heez... All in all, I was very thankful that she came down; we never really got to know each other that well in UIUC, but this trip made me know her better. An easily misunderstood person, because she's very frank, but it also means she is very sincere towards people around her. Took really good care of me (instead of the other way round *oops*), making me gargle extremely-salty salt water every night, haha~! Will never forget that. Also very thankful towards Grace, who gave me a belated birthday present. Will go into that the next entry, hee hee... *muacks*
