Woah, been 4 days since the last entry - shows how hardworking I've been! Yay~
Today's Beth's birthday - how ironic, when the more you try to forget, the more these things get to you - Anyway, I got her a photo frame with a picture of us, thought it was really cute. K, when there's a chance, I'll 'secretly' take a photo of the photo frame and post it on my album. By the way, it's the Jewish New Year today. Saw my Jewish hall mate all dressed up today to celebrate. Quite interesting; haven't really been able to distinguish a Jew from the rest... Hmm..
Let's see if there's anything interesting going on the past 4 days... Hmm, ya, Jonathan, one of our freshmen, suffered from a ruptured lung on Monday. Sounds serious ya, but then surprisingly there wasn't any need for him to be admitted into the hospital. We just went visit him on Tuesday night, after which he went for bible study; seems pretty ok to me... Always thought a ruptured lung is very serious. But it's a good thing that it isn't lah =)
On the same day we all met up to visit Jon, Daniel Quek apologised to me. Yee Lin gave him a lecture earlier on; he said he was kidding throughout and thought I could take it. Felt quite paiseh also... Think I shouldn't have been too sensitive too.
Been studying at the library at night the past few nights till 11 plus, quite conducive, and can see it becoming a congregating place for the PAR singaporean students - with Yee Lin's room mate having her boyfriend coming over quite often and Bernard's room mate got a play station and 2 DDR mats recently. Hee hee...
Oh oh, received an sms halfway during class this morning, it was from my cousin Regina: "Our baby girl, 2.7kg, has arrived safely earlier this evening." I was really excited when I read the sms. It made my day! Hee hee, got another new member in the extended Low family! (Btw, got myself a new nephew during late August too~) To think that when I see them, they'd already be 8 or 9 months old... Hmm...
Oh ya, went swimming on Wednesday. Thought it was quite funny: Went to the outdoor pool in the afternoon. Decided to wear my two-piece swim suit 'cos don't want a tan line of my normal swimming costume. Especially I know very little people in school, so I thought I wouldn't be seen by anyone I know anyway. When I was about to get into the pool, I saw a singapore senior. My god, I quickly got into the pool, wore my goggles and started swimming, hoping he didn't see me. The next thing I know, he was swimming in the same lane as me (we have dividers for each lane. NB: Probabilty of us swimming in the same lane = 1/10 X 1/10) Quickly changed my lane, and after swimming 20 laps, I decided to leave - waited for him to swim into the centre of the pool and made my retreat. So much for my jian fei da ji hua *sigh* At least he didn't see me lah, heh heh...
Was talking to Agnes, Jireh and Hsien - they are leaving in less than a week's time. Feels kind of weird ah... They are at the "packing DHL box with hao dong xi" stage, hee hee... This means I've left home for 1 month already... Liu Hao was saying, with friends in Singapore, UK and US, I'll be working like the stock market - After Singapore friends go offline, the UK ones come, followed by the US ones. Heh heh, no lah, I think everyone else would have their own stuffs to do too. Friends out there: though we don't keep in touch as often as before, but I believe we all have a special place for each other right?? =D
By the way, Jireh showed me this today: http://www.warwick.ac.uk/insite/. Warwick has been invited by EDB to set up a university in Singapore. Haha, Yee lin said if that's the case what's the point of me coming over to study. On the other hand, at least I know if things work out, 5 years down the road people will know what I'm talking about when I tell them I come from Warwick.
Have to really start studying already: There's going to be a mid-term exam for finance next week. Sigh... Anyway we have this simulation programme in the finance course, which is quite interesting. Each of us is given a million dollars to play with, and based on the actual stock market, we're going to buy and sell stocks. Suddenly a bit freaked out, 'cos need to do 'homework' before buying stocks already - begin to read the Economist and surfing around Yahoo! Finance. Think there's a lot a lot of things left to be done, to prepare myself, not only for school, but also for the business world, right Chong Choon? *winkz*
Alright, jia you jia you~
