Blessed life...

If reincarnation is really true, I think I must have been an equivalent of Mother Theresa in my previous life. Had a very very very very enjoyable birthday, and very touched to have my friends spending so much effort to have a birthday party despite a heavy work schedule. Furthermore, the past 3 days I've been receiving birthday cards from friends in UK and in Singapore. Let me go into details about this evening:

After a fruitful 1 and 1/2 hour talk with Siewlian on the phone, I waited in my room for Shen Ting and Liu Hao. Shen Ting applied make up for me before we left, and it was really really nicely done. We went to the lounge downstairs, but they wouldn't let me in. So after loitering around the reception area for a while, I was finally allowed to go in - Was welcomed by a dark room with a lit birthday cake in the centre and everyone started to sing the birthday song for me. There was Yee Lin, Lik Yin, Liu Hao, Bernard, Lu Hai, Zhi Xiu, Janice and Jonathan there. Liu Hao, Shen Ting and Jermyn actually bought an oreo-chocolate ice cream cake from Neil Street (it was delicious! comparable to NYDC's mudpies), which is like 1/2 hour walk away from where we stay, and they had takeaway from Mandarin Wok, our favourite chinese restaurant on campus. Had sambal kangkong without the sambal, spicy tofu, and fried rice. *slurp* Here comes the highlight: Lik Yin and Yee Lin went to our seniors' house to cook "mian4 xian4" for me. It tasted really good, can't believe I got to eat it in the US! (Sadly I didn't take pictures of everything)

After that, I was presented my birthday present: a bracelet and card from Shen Ting, Jermyn and Liu Hao, plus notes of wishes from each one who was there. By the way, another freshman, Mark, gave me a birthday card earlier on in the day 'cos he couldn't make it for the celebration. My god, what have I done to deserve such luck???

After dinner, some of them left to watch Resident Evil 2, and the rest of us went to the Quad, which is a very large field surrounded by all the 'main buildings' of the school and chilled out. Bernard fell asleep and started snoring, haha~ Too bad the sky was covered by clouds, couldn't see the stars and the almost-full moon. Basically the night was spent chilling out and laughing, and also talking about perspectives and such. Really wonderful...! Not forgetting to find Beth's present for me on the table when I returned to my room =P

I'm seriously flattered that my friends are doing so much for me even though we've only known for a month plus, especially when some of them, i.e. Liu Hao and Yee Lin are having 2 and 3 exams next week respectively. Seriously hope I'll be able to do something in return for them too!

Alright, been a long day, going to sleep already... And my friends who have done so much for me in Singapore and the UK, thanks for everything as well! I LOVE YOU!!!! And of course, my mother, for going through so much to have me on this earth. *muacks*
