Drove for the first time in the US today, using my senior Dennis's car~ Actually he's the same standing as me, in terms of academic level, but since he's older, I'll just call him my senior~ Anyway got to drive the first time, gosh, was quite stressed initially, 'cos for one, steering wheel's on the left, thus there's this tendency to manouver (somehow I think I still dunno how to spell this word) the car to the right. Another thing is turning left in US is like turning right in Singapore - got to cut across the oncoming traffic, and for people like me with weak psychomotor skills, once I'm not wary, I'd be turning into the wrong lane. =S Ah well, guess everything needs some time to adapt. For all you know, I'll be facing the same problem when I return to Singapore next year. Heh heh...
Helmi's going to take the driving test tomorrow already. If everything goes well and he passes, we'll be getting our dream BMW 5 series car which we found at http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/detail/index.html?cid=automobiles-1097422988-9970133&dst=123.87&rsr=bWFrZT1ibXcmbW9kZWw9NzUwMDAwNDEyJmNsX3k9MTk5NiZjaF95PTIwMDAmY2xfcHJpY2U9JmNoX3ByaWNlPSZjbF9taT0mY2hfbWk9JmNrPSZndXI9MjAwJmNzej02MTgwMSZ2dHlwZT1hdXRvcyZtaz1CTVcmbW89JmI9MjYm
*cross fingers*
Dennis mentioned about driving with responsibilty; there was an accident last Friday involving 4 Singapore students from Carnegie Mellon. There were 4 in the car, all were asleep except the driver. When they woke up, the car flipped, and unfortunately the driver passed away. Yep, especially for the road trip to Canada, we'd be driving in the snow, have to be extra careful. =)
